Dianshan Lake is the largest freshwater lake in Shanghai. The starting point of the Huangpu River, its waters provide the foundation for Shanghai’s drinking water. The park will be built in two phases and totals 230 acres. North Shore Park is composed around The Waterfront Boulevard, which also serves as a flood control levee. This lush, sinuous corridor is framed by a boardwalk on the lakeside and bucolic gardens and bike trails on the inland side. Adjacent to the boulevard, active “parks within the park” offer a range of program, including the activity rich 30-acre Canal Gardens, comprised of a Welcome Center, Amphitheater, and theKunshan Cultural Gardens. The most iconic aspect of the park will be a the Pier and a series of water cleansing Eco-Islands each creating a dramatic opportunity for visitors to get out into the water.
