Applied Underwriters Campus
Location: Omaha, Nebraska Project Type: Corporate Campus Client: Applied Underwriters Design Architect: STUDIOS Architecture Executive Architect: Holland Basham Architects
Meyer Studio is taking a unique approach to convey the integrity and strength of Applied Underwriters. While the architecture lives at the high point of the site, it is revealed through 3 gestures — a sculpted lake, a meadow-covered landform, and a stately plaza.
To the south of the building, a grand lawn extends from a central atrium and rises subtly setting up a clear and powerful view of the horizon.
Beautifully belying convention there is no parking above ground. Furthering this effect is the ‘avenue’ to the front door — just 2 simple lanes separated by meadow grasses. This approach, along with a mindful melding of the corporate space with surrounding public greenways helps create a stunning park-like atmosphere.
The site is currently under construction.
