MSLA is providing design services for public and private spaces of 1900 Broadway, a 37 story multi-use tower in downtown Oakland. A public pocket park, adjacent to the 19th St BART, amenitizes cafes and restaurants while providing an inviting and vibrant entry into the building. Conceived to celebrate the historic adjacent Tapscott building, the plaza lends a place-based solution within the fabric of the Uptown District. A large podium deck with pool optimizes the sunny Oakland climate to create an oasis in the heart of downtown. At the rooftop of the tower, a lounge and outdoor deck offers tenants an elegant opportunity for taking in the views across the bay to Mt. Tamalpais.
