Alta Laguna Under Construction

Alta Laguna, a two block 6-acre housing complex located near downtown San Francisco, is under construction, and we’re excited to share photos of the progress. With the surrounding buildings almost fully framed, the structural framework of the landscape is beginning to emerge. Signature spaces such as Waller Park, the community garden, and amenity courtyards are now visible. The views of downtown from Waller Street are fantastic and highlight how the design takes advantage of the challenging topography on the site.

In this construction photo of Waller Park the belvedere walls, steps and a large depression for tree planting can be seen. With the majority of the project built on top of a parking garage, Meyer + Silberberg collaborated closely with the architects and structural engineers to design a recess in the structural slab to be filled with planting soil and allow the park’s ginkgo trees to reach full size and health.
