The innovation city master plan in the City of Guangzhou is designed as the next generation creative development hub for the region. The master plan is informed by urban strategies that seek to create resilient development that is walkable, highly sustainable, and functions as a flexible framework for the future. The regional topography provides unique natural character to the site. Preserving and embracing the natural high points as well as the alluvial low lands informs the program of the open space. The geomorphic forms inspire the design of the open space to emphasize the Lingnan style of blending natural forms and characteristics into the site elements.
